Generic Name: Cefpodoxime.
Contents: Susp: Per 5ml: Cefpodoxime 40mg (as cefopodoxime proxetil); granules for susp. Tabs 100mg: Cefpodoxime 100mg (as cefopodoxime proxetil).
Indications: Tonsillitism, pharyngitis, sinusitis, acute purulent bronchitis, exacerbation of chronic obstructive bronchitis, bacterial pneumonia.
Dosage: Susp: Children: Under 6 months, 8mg/kg daily in two divided doses; 6 months-2 years, 5ml twice daily; 3-8 years, 10ml twice daily; over 9 years, 12.5ml twice daily.
Tabs: Adults: Tonsillitis, pharyngitis: One tab morning and evening. Sinusitis: Two tabs morning and evening. Acute bronchitis, bacterial pneumo­nia, acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis: One to two tabs morning and evening. Children: Not recommended.
